The Julies ‘Lovelife’ Gets Vinyl Release

Of all the ways I discovered bands in the mid-’90s when I started doing my own fanzine called TANG, The Julies were maybe one of the strangest. My brother came home from school one day saying he met a guy at our school who played bass in a band called The Julies and that they might actually be good because they really liked The Cure.

I don’t remember why he was at our high school since he had already graduated – picking up a transcript in those pre-internet days I suppose – but we soon found out he lived nearby and when we got ahold of the band’s tape immediately fell in love.

Lovelife was released in 1996 so it never got the full vinyl treatment but a Kickstarter helped make that a reality.

Lost In Ohio has some additional copies available for those who didn’t get in on the Kickstarter. The six-song EP – with a fresh master by TW Walsh and liner notes by J. Edward Keyes – comes in black and red vinyl.
