Mad Men is set two decades before Rick Astley unleashed his internet-famous song “Never Gonna Give You Up” on the masses in 1987 so it would be anachronistic for the cast of Mad Men to actually sing the song. But thanks to YouTube user Buchan39 (Richard Sandling) and what must have been an incredible amount of spare time we now know what it would look like to be Rick-rolled by the cast of Mad Men in this video that takes the show’s characters voicing, one word at a time, the lyrics to the song. Given the plot of the show, the video is dripping with irony and promises to be an internet sensation even if it doesn’t come close to the 53 million views the original video has collected.
