‘Raising Hope’ parodies ‘Almost Famous’

Raising Hope parodied both My Name Is Earl – the character Bert’s favorite TV show – and the movie Almost Famous in the recent episode “Making the Band.”

In the episode, My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee reprises his role of washed up rockstar Smokey Floyd righting past wrongs. Among the items on his list is Bert, who he failed to give the “Smokey Floyd experience” in his previous encounter. Making amends with Bert somehow leads to them forming a children’s band and embarking on the “Pour Some Breast Milk on Me” tour, which leads to a parody of the plane almost crashing scene from Almost Famous.

Brilliant.
