Puzzling epistle

three20crosses

I saw a shirt that looked something like the thrown together in Photoshop image above at the bus stop yesterday.

At first I just assumed with the crosses of calvary and all that it was a run-of-the-mill Jesus-died-for-my-sins kind of shirt. But then I thought about it some more and started picturing a Zombie Jesus.

The young woman wearing it didn’t look like the ironic hipster type and the design was almost too kitschy to not be pro-Christian but I’m really not sure either way. My best guess is it it’s some play on the “dead to sin, alive in Christ” passage in the New Testament.

And Google didn’t help at all.

I really should have asked. But then again, maybe getting me to ask is the point and maybe my not asking her either saved me from being “witnessed” to or having to listen to a long-winded conspiracy theory rant.

  1. Maybe it has to do with the stories of Jesus being buried alive, rescued by Peter and John and sent to the south of France . . .

  2. Oh right, “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail” theory. Didn’t I see a movie about that once?
