When I travel, I like a soundtrack of music local to the area I’m in so on a recent trip to Alaska I had pretty limited pickings when it came to cool music originating from Alaska. Portugal. The Man isn’t technically an Alaska band anymore but they formed in Wasilla so I spent a lot of my time in Alaska listening through their back catalog. Last week, the band released a new album, Evil Friends, produced by Danger Mouse that has demanded even more rotation for the band. The opening track, “Plastic Soldiers” shows how perfect the match of the band with Danger Mouse at the helm really was.
