David Simon and others talk 'The Wire' in free podcast A lively and candid panel discussion about HBO's The Wire, with series creator David Simon, writer Richard Pric, and stars Seth Gilliam, Clark Johnson, Clarke Peters and Wendell Pierce, is now available online at the Museum of the Moving Image's Pinewood Dialogues Online Web site. The posting of this dialogue coincides with the highly anticipated release of the fifth and final season of The Wire on DVD. The Pinewood Dialogues Web site features 72 conversations with leading directors, actors and other creative figures in film and television available for download. The panel "Making The Wire" was recorded on July 30, 2008, at a sold-out program presented by the Museum at The Times Center in Manhattan. "HBO's The Wire is regarded by many as the greatest dramatic TV series ever produced," said the Museum's Chief Curator David Schwartz, who moderated the panel discussion. "The panel discussion offered a very candid, and often quite funny look into the creative process." Click here to listen to the conversation. Also added to Pinewood Dialogues Online recently is a conversation between directors Jonathan Demme and Werner Herzog. Other additions to the site include talks with Paul Thomas Anderson, Halle Berry, Francis Ford Coppola, Daniel Day-Lewis, Danny Glover, Tamara Jenkins, Laura Linney, Sidney Lumet, Arthur Penn, and Wong Kar-wai.
