Muxtape down...for now
Muxtape, the wildly popular Web site that has ushered in the age of the digital mix tape has been shut down, at least for the time being.
A message appearing on the site's main page states that it will be "unavailable for a brief period while we sort out a problem with the RIAA." The RIAA, the Recording Industry Association of America, is a trade group that represents the major labels of the recording industry in the U.S.
Created in March 2008 by Justin Ouelette, the site has attracted tens of thousands of users.
