Elsewhere: Reaction from the right

The sane:

“That victory is a hallmark moment in history for all Americans — not just for those who voted for Sen. Obama. As a nation, we will never think of ourselves the same way again. Americans rich and poor, black and white, old and young, will look to an African-American man and know him as President of the United States. The President. The only President. The elected President. Our President.”

-Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, on his blog.

President-Elect Obama can count on my prayer support. He can count on respectful treatment. I will not treat him with the level of vitriol that President Bush has seen from the left. I will encourage him when I think he is right, and I will respectfully oppose him when I think he is wrong.

-Shane Vander Hart, Caffeinated Thoughts

The not so sane:

“Can’t believe this is actually happening, our country is going to fall apart.”

“Terrorists – Our doors are now open. Welcome to America.”

“Cannot believe this country voted for a communist. He cannot believe that we would do that.”

“Get your guns now, affirmative action wins, somebody get this guy a parade with a convertible down a street by a grassy knoll… why are people so stupid!?”

“Pray for our nation… Obama is our President! God save our Nation!”

“Wondering where we should turn in our clothes and pick up our uniforms… arg… socialism…”

“Amazed at how ignorant Americans are. Socialism here we come…”

  1. Glad to see I fall into the “sane” category.

  2. i guess Obama winning 2009, to the republicans is the way i felt when Bush won in 2000 and 2004.

hopefully the country isnt too brainwashed to realize all the good this man can accomplish. esp with the senate being majority democrats also.

i am so truly proud of this country today. this is the first time in my life that i can really say that.
