The Onion throws salt on the wound of the newspaper industry in this segment where a comic book fan says an economically viable Daily Planet newspaper is the most far-fetched thing about the superhero comic book series.
As a former daily newspaper reporter, the state of the business makes me sad – just today I read that the Harrisburg Patriot-News plans to switch to a three-day-a-week print schedule – but it’s understandable. I myself only subscribe to a Sunday paper, leaving the rest of the days to my RSS feed.
