Like a band that gets back together with only one of its original members playing a completely different instrument, the “official” sequel to beloved holiday classic A Christmas Story is returning straight to video on Oct. 30. The proof that this misguided concept is really happening is in the trailer below, which doesn’t look quite as terrible as I expected.
The sequel, unlike the only recently remembered 1994 movie My Summer Story (aka It Runs In the Family) takes place at Christmas with an older Ralphie now eyeing a car instead of a BB Gun and a bunch of different actors – most notably Daniel Stern as the old man – reprising roles from the original.
